The Observer

2023 - 2024

The Observer is a project focused on some of Robson’s obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) compulsions and her experience of moving back in with her family.

She pairs each constructed image with a complementary photograph taken at an abandoned military estate. Through bleak and grotesque imagery, she illustrates the feeling of resisting compulsions and distance felt when returning home.

The project takes form in a handmade book including nine diptych’s and one triptych, as well as a selection of photographs displayed as prints in a 4x4 grid.

This project was exhibited in AGITATE gallery in Edinburgh in March 2024, as part of group exhibition Sága.
